Job Description

A Team Captain is a position designed to support the stay a wake a thon by leading a team from your organization/school/family/community to participate and raise funds.

Team Captain Meetings: Meetings will be held once a month at HHHS and will focus on different things. We highly encourage you or one of your members to attend to find out the latest about what's going on and what others are doing.

Team Captain Meeting Schedule

TUES               February 7th                Getting your team started

TUES               March 6th                     The Fun of FUNdraising

 TUES              March 27th                   Survivors- Our reason to do it!!!

WED                April 18th                     Campsites and last minute details!

THURS             May 3rd               *  Last bank collection T-shirts Wrist Bands                                         
 
* This is an especially important meeting to make. You will be receiving wrist bands for your team mates so they can stay the night, and you will be receiving your teams T-Shirts.  Please make sure if your team mates have not turned in their money, they give it to you by Thursday May 3rd so that you can give them their wrist band.

Job Responsibilities

A Team Captain agrees to serve in the following capacities:

·        Build a team of 10-15 members .

·        Attend the Stay a wake a thon kickoff.

·        Set a fundraising goal for your team. (attaining a minimum fundraising expectation of $100 per team member and $1000 per team.)

·        Recognize cancer survivors on your team and participate in the survivorship celebrations at the event.

·        Distribute participant collection envelopes and other fundraising tools to all team members.

·        Coach and motivate your team to success. This includes using all available forms of internal communications to generate enthusiasm and participation for the event (i.e., email, voice mail, letters, facebook)

·        Hold creative fundraisers to help your team raise money. You don’t have to raise money on your own. Your team can hold mini fundraisers to collect donations. Ie: bake sale at school or office, singing valentines telegram, carnations etc.

·        Attend Team Captain meetings and distribute information to your team members.

·        Recognize team members for their commitment to the fight against cancer.

We have plenty of tools and resources available to you. So, if you’re having a problem or concern, just ask!!
